Burlington- A parade will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11th. The route runs down Farhaven Avenue from Walnut to Regent Street.
Coupeville-Central Whidbey Lions Club and the Town of Coupeville will host a recongition ceremony on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Plaza at the Island County courthouse, on the corner of 6th and Center Street.
Oak Harbor- A ceremony will be held at 11 a.m on Friday, november 11 at the Oak Harbor High School Student Union Building. There will be a video tribute, musical performances, NJROTC Color Guard and speaker. The theme is The Greatest Generation, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Mount Vernon-A complimentary breakfast for vets and their families will be served at 9 a.m. on Saturday November. 12 at the St. Joseph Center on N. 15th Street. There will be a bendediction, color guard, musical entertainment, a flyover and guest speaker.

Forget-Me-Nots and Poppies for Sale- A fundraiser for the Disabled American Veterans will be held in Oak Harbor November 11th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wal-mart, Saars Market Place, the Commissary and Navy Exchange. Purchase a handmade flower and support a vet. Vets Eat Free at Applebees Applebee Restraurants across the county are offering a free meal to Vets and active duty personnel on November 11th. Be prepared to show proof: U.S. UniformServices ID card, U.S, Uniform Services Retired ID card, current leave and earnings statement, veteran's organziation card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DDD214, citation or commedation. Local restaurants are: Burlington- on Cascade Mall Drive, Oak Harbor- on Highway 20, Bellingham- on East Sunset Drive.
Holiday Card-Writing Campaign
The American Red Cross is sponsoring a holday card and letter writing campaign from 1p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday November 11th at the Cascade Mall in Burlington. Donations of cards are greatly appreciated.
